For the second year, Virginia Tech is making their homecoming more than a popularity contest. Each contestent must run for their titles on platforms that are community and service based. It is a new twist on one of the greatest Virginia Tech traditions.

her plan
If Katie is to win the title of Homecoming Queen, she plans to host a mock "career fair" on campus for local elementary school students. She is aspiring for different organizations on campus to sponsor booths with carnival-like games for elementary school students to have a day of play while also seeing positive role models in their communities who are breaking gender stereotypes.
