Spring Newsletter
Hello, all!
As we are nearing the end of Spring we wanted to take an opportunity to share with our members a recap of exciting news and our accomplishments.
Say Hello to Our New Execs!
This Spring, FEARless gained four new executive members. We our proud to present to you our Director of Public Relations Lauren Etheridge, Assistant Director of Public Relations Megan Koch, Assistant Director of External Affairs Reilly Matthews and Assistant Director of Fundraising Carina Campellone. We are happy to see the executive board grow and look forward to kicking off the Fall with fresh, new ideas. Bringing Education to Girls Worldwide
We are especially excited to announce that based on the funds we raised this semester, FEARless made a donation to Camfed, one of our partner organizations. With this $650 donation, we will be providing an entire year of college education to a girl in Zimbabwe. All too often many women and girls in Zimbabwe miss out on the opportunity for education due to the country's extreme poverty, and we want you to know that we are making strides to change that. FEARless would like to give a huge thank you to all of you that helped make this donation possible! For more information about Camfed, and how our donation money will be put to use, please follow this link: https://camfed.org/donate/appeals/zimbabwe-send-10-young-women-college/
Hear Ye, Hear Ye, Be FEARless for Homecoming!
Our very own Director of External Affairs Katie Talley is running as a Virginia Tech Homecoming candidate in Fall 2016. This is a big step for our organization, and we could not be more proud to have this honor. Be sure to keep an eye out for further details about the campaign coming in early September!
Raffle Success
This Spring, we held a raffle in which we sold tickets for the chance to win some awesome prizes! The prizes included gift certificates to Frank Theatres CineBowl and Girlle, Bull & Bones Brewhaus & Grill, Mellow Mushroom, Preston’s Restaurant and Hello Bagel. We raised over $120 in profits and had an incredible profit margin of 98%! We would like to thank you all for the amazing turnout in ticket sales and the overall success of the raffle. With numbers and success like this, we are really looking forward to everyone's great support for future fundraisers.
